Senior Compliance Director, Consumer & Digital, Enterprise Operations, Client Analytics

Lead second line of defense Compliance Risk Management team responsible for the independent oversight for i) all Consumer lines of business and related products and services and ii) Digital, Enterprise Operations, Client Analytics and Marketing (DECAM) activities through the execution of a comprehensive enterprise Compliance Management System. Work in partnership with executive and business leadership to develop and drive a culture of compliance to keep the consumer experience at the forefront of every decision and activity. Work collaboratively across Compliance Risk Management and other Risk program owners and functions to maintain and deliver holistic and comprehensive risk solutions.

Establishes and oversees execution of enterprise wide compliance program to proactively and systemically identify, assess, measure, monitor and report on the consumer regulatory compliance risks to Truist;

Lead a team of Compliance Directors, Managers and Officers in their ongoing development and support of the first-line oversight of their respective business/services;

Provide strategic direction and guidance to first line partners regarding applicable laws, rules and regulations and enterprise standards to address compliance risk of the organization;

Oversee and provide credible challenge/assessment of the business with respect to management and mitigating compliance risk;

Work across all areas of the organization to support effective coordination of regulatory exams impacting Consumer/DECAM and build/maintain effective relationships with all regulatory agencies;

Actively participate as a member of the Chief Compliance Officer’s leadership team and other business unit risk management and compliance committees and working sessions as the representative and leading voice for Consumer/DECAM compliance;

Identification and appropriate escalation of risk/issues through various committees/forums;

Direct and oversee key enterprise compliance program elements with respect to Consumer & DECAM Compliance including risk assessments, change risk assessments, regulatory changes, compliance training, third party assessments, issue management, monitoring and reporting;

Overseeing the development and integrity of Consumer/DECAM compliance risk metrics such as KRIs to measure compliance risk over time and work with business partners to establish processes to discuss, escalate and address concerns identified in these metrics;


Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and related training

2. 15+ years of financial industry experience, including compliance/risk management and leadership/managerial experience

3. Substantial broad-based knowledge and experience in applying consumer laws and regulations, designing, managing and overseeing compliance programs and processes and handling regulatory matters

4. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products; knowledge and experience using and designing processes, taxonomies and hierarchies in RSA Archer or similar GRC tools

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as job will require extensive interaction with various business units among multiple disciplines including Senior and Executive Management

6. Prior Management experience, as job will require managing a large team of compliance professionals covering diverse areas

7. Ability to communicate and work with various regulatory agencies

8. Attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines

9. Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills

10. Ability to conceptualize and assist in building technology into compliance processes in order to gain efficiency and enhance the strength of the Compliance Management System

11. Solid understanding of risk management processes and risk analysis

12. Expert knowledge of broad-based compliance regulations

13. Ability to shift focus to high-risk compliance areas as they change over time

14. Ability to think horizontally across compliance and other risk programs to leverage existing processes, avoid duplication and work with other risk disciplines to provide a holistic view of risk

15. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in Finance or Business Administration

2. Juris Doctor or other applicable advanced degree

3. CRCM or other equivalent professional certifications
