Investments in grid infrastructure are expected to increase over the coming years as the Company transitions to a net zero carbon future and adapts to the requirements of an increasingly dynamic grid. Customer Delivery capital investments are integral to the success of this strategy. State regulatory policies in each different jurisdiction allow for different treatment and cost recovery mechanisms for these investments. The new NC HB951 legislation allows for a new recovery mechanism for capital projects. The Multi-Year Rate Plan (MYRP) portion of that legislation requires very detailed financial and operational information on capital projects and also has extensive monitoring and reporting requirements on status of those capital projects.

This position will be responsible for rate case support, regulatory reporting support, accounting, financial analysis, planning and reporting support of the different capital recovery mechanisms, primarily the MYRP in the Carolinas. This position will also support the other groups within the organization that have critical projects related to the Carbon Plan and MYRP.

This position requires a blended knowledge of technical and functional financial reporting and analysis skills. This position will need to coordinate with legal, regulatory, legislative, and accounting groups. This position will work closely with business partners and other finance teams to analyze and report variances, support forecast development, and meet reporting requirements and deadlines. Key activities include support of rate cases (such as testimony development and responses to data requests) and quarterly/annual reporting for internal and external purposes. The role will work with business representatives at all levels, in all jurisdictions, and will provide the expertise/assistance necessary for the business to achieve financial success. This position must be able to listen attentively and be able to communicate both orally and in written form at a subject matter expert level while presenting ideas and concepts clearly to broad groups.
