Finance Analyst II, EIG

Position Overview:
The global Finance Function acts as a proactive business partner, advising and making recommendations based upon financial projections and historical performance. Finance also provides financial expertise companywide and ensures accurate and efficient transaction processing.
Candidate Profile:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
• Corning mfg. acct experience preferred
• Previous experience in a finance position(s), preferably in Corning or other Fortune 500 multinational corporation
• Critical thinker
• Open communicator
• Demonstrated ability to process large amounts of data into simple, easily understood talking points
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and customers at the highest service levels
• Ability to analyze and interpret data and link to business implications
• Good analytical skills, presentation skills and problem-solving capability
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people in different time zones/cultures
• Comfortable challenging existing processes driving finance process and service improvements
• Expertise in Excel, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft
• Working knowledge of Khalix and/or S4Hana BPC
Primary responsibilities include:
• Analyzes, interprets, and implements financial concepts for financial planning and control
• Assists with the period closing process; including preparation and posting of journal entries
• Provides financial analysis related to capital projects, strategic investments, cost reduction, and other initiatives as required
• Assists in performing accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements
• Reviews and administers fiscal operating policies and procedures
• Gathers, analyzes, prepares, and summarizes recommendations for financial plans, acquisition activity, future requirements, operating forecasts, and related financial activities
• Supports cross-functional projects and helps coordinate key communication activities
• Conducts business performance evaluations, scenario analysis, variance analysis, and ad hoc analysis under direct supervision
• Collects and analyzes data on financial and/or operational metrics and performances highlighting variances that need corrective action
• Ability to be comfortable interacting and communicating with all aspects of the business, including staff and senior managers
