NABA Student Scholarships
One of the benefits that NABA affords its student members is the opportunity to apply for scholarships on the local, regional, and national level. The competition was extremely competitive. Each application was carefully reviewed by a committee of professional members and nine students were selected to receive scholarships for the 2007-2008 academic year. Congratulations to our 2007 NABA of Charlotte Scholarship Recipients who were honored during the April 19th Scholarship and Awards Reception hosted by Bank of America:
Keshia Nobles is the recipient of a $500 scholarship from KPMG. Keshia is a sophomore accounting major at UNCC where she is treasurer of the NABA chapter.
Ashley Gary-Roper is the recipient of a $500 scholarship from KPMG. Ashley is a senior marketing major at Winthrop University where she is currently the VP of the NABA chapter and the President Elect.
Asha Green is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship from PricewaterhouseCoopers. Asha is a sophomore accounting major at UNCC and is the president of the NABA chapter.
Lanita Slaughter is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship from Ernst and Young. Lanita is a rising junior majoring in Accounting and Finance and is the current VP of the UNCC.
Chelsea Raley-Ramos is the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship from Wachovia. Chelsea is a freshman accounting major at Winthrop University.
Vanessa Bush is the recipient of a $1,500 scholarship from Duke Energy. Vanessa is a freshman at UNCC majoring in accounting and she is the corresponding secretary for the NABA chapter.
Ebony James is the recipient of a $2,000 scholarship from Compass Group. Ebony is a junior accounting major at Fayettteville State University. She plans to run for Chapter president of the student chapter.
Erica Elliott is the winner of a $2,000 scholarship from Bank of America. Erica is a junior accounting major at UNCC.
Thandiwe Mhonda is the recipient of a $3,500 scholarship from Belk Stores. Thandiwe Mhonda is a junior accounting major at Winthrop University where he is the treasurer-elect of the NABA chapter.
