Certainly, the expense of any person going to college is great and can be 
overwhelming. That?s why the NABA Charlotte Chapter is reminding you about 
the annual scholarships available to our collegiate members. Every year 
NABA sponsors several key programs and services designed to address the 
needs of students majoring in the fields of accounting, finance, or 
business administration. 

For the past two academic years we have awarded over $20,000 in 
Scholarships to students making a difference in their communities and 
schools. This year we want to continue our goal of developing our 
collegiate members and look forward to the amazing things to come. 

We want to encourage you to inform others about Student Scholarship 
Opportunities with NABA! 

The Scholarship deadline this year is April 2nd, 2008 

The CHARLOTTE CHAPTER OF THE   NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF BLACK ACCOUNTANTS, 
INC. (NABA) is proud to announce that the organization will award one or 
more scholarships for the next academic year.  The application deadline is 
April 2, 2008. These scholarships will be presented at the Annual 
Awards/Scholarship event to be held in late April. The actual cash awards 
will be made directly to the student after proof of enrollment for the 
period(s) covered by the award is received by the Charlotte professional 
chapter.   

Applicants must: 

1.   Be an ethnic minority who is currently enrolled at a U.S. college or 
university as a full-time (12 semester hours or equivalent), undergraduate 
freshman, sophomore, junior, or first-year senior accounting, finance, or 
business major -or-Be an ethnic minority who is enrolled at a U.S. college 
or university as a full-time graduate student (nine semester hours or 
equivalent) presently accepted in a masters-level accounting or taxation 
program. 

2.    Be a paid NABA member.  A paid member is one whose membership dues 
have been received by NABA's National Office by the April 2 scholarship 
deadline.  (Dues of $20 for undergraduate students, or $120 for graduate 
students, can be included with this application.) 

3.   Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Please provide a 
conversion of your grades to the "4.0 grading scale" if your college does 
not use this scale. 

Please submit the following: 
Completed Scholarship Application.  Please type or print your responses, 
including "N/A" for items that are not applicable to you.  The application 
must be completed in its entirety, submitted with the items listed below, 
and postmarked by April 2, 2008. 
Current, official Academic Transcript.  You must request that your 
registrar send this to the Charlotte Professional Chapter of NABA directly 
or to you in a sealed envelope. We will not accept student copies or other 
unofficial transcripts.  Most schools assess a nominal service charge to 
send official transcripts.   
Current Resume 
Prepare a Personal Biography of 500 words or less.  Your biography should 
specifically discuss your career objectives, leadership abilities, 
community activities, work experiences, and your involvement in NABA. Mail 
application and all accompanying materials to:
